The group Live-Love-Write is having a... contest they call Dodecathlon. As much as I wanted to take part in it for the mandatory idea, it was exclusive to participants of their previous one. Still, that didn't discourage me from writing a short story. On another note, "Silent Howl" has likely suffered my writer's block, but I still want to finish it.
So, the theme of that competition was "mythical creature". Dragons sounded cliché there, but there is another mythical animal that fascinates me: gryphon. (I prefer to spell it that way) What I gathered is that gryphons are a variation of treasure protector, but they are very cunning and strategic, possibly tricky. I originally intended to have a male gryphon, but female sort of made more sense as mothers have the motivation to protect. I also later chose to give a bit of the creature's perspective. To avoid another cliché, I made it that the animal doesn't speak human. I could go on and on about points of the story. If you have questions about it, just ask.
It's nice to do something different. I rather like what I did here. Adding this to your favourites or a collection means nothing to me. Tell me what you like about it and what you question. Whoever posts this as their own will die.
One last thing: Happy Birthday to wonderful author J. K. Rowling. I love her. What a huge success she's made. I, for one, still celebrate her series on modern-day wizards. After all this time? ...Always
