They Are a Part of Me

This is a part of one of my stories. If you're guessing what one, you're probably wrong. I simply drew this in my sketch book. I went through three of four practice designs before coming to this.
I drew this with a pencil, then lined with black pen. I coloured with both pencil crayons and markers.
Each of these animals has a reason, and they each represent my character's qualities.
The lion, that I named Marquis, represents his courage and strength. I used Simba as a reference
The wolf, that I named Amaya, represents his nobility, vigilance, and destruction. I tried picturing Blue from "Wolf's Rain"
The owl is commonly a symbol of death. I named her Katarina, even though it seems to be a male. I used a picture of a Eurasian Eagle Owl that I downloaded, as a reference, which I thought would be right. She represents my character's knowledge and hope. I much enjoy the detail I put in.
The dove was a simple design. I named her Tatiana. I'm just fascinated by white doves. She represents my character's sincerity and kindness.

I put this together on the afternoon of 24 Mar 2012, while listening to various songs on my MP3 player, drinking tea and eating biscuits. This took me 85 minutes, start-to-finish.
