Literature Text

It was a warm night as a unique creature, perched at the edge of the top of a great structure, taking in the scenery of the fields of green grass and different kinds of flowers, the scattered stone fragments that were once part of historic homes, the sand that was partially covered by new life, by a riverbed reflecting the little light of the stars of the clear night sky. The creature closed his indigo eyes and sighed. It was a long sigh, probably because he was tired and it was late at night.
The creature was a dragon with purple scales, yellow-orange chest plates, two horns, and spines that ran along the back of his head. The end of his tail was shaped like a flame. He had orange wings. However, most of his wings and the spines on his back were concealed by a black cape. On his left eyelid, was two old,  aligning scars in the form of an "X". Six of his fangs were bared, and his claws were longer than average.
A female voice said, "What do you see?"
The purple dragon turned his head to look behind him, seeing a black dragoness with pink wings, a pink underbelly, six long white horns on the top of her head, her muzzle shaped like a beak. The end of her tail and the thumbs of her wings looked like razors with a hole in the side. One her forelegs and tail, she wore iron bands. Her eyes were emerald green.
The male dragon replied, "Only the world, and you, Cynder."
"Isn't it late, Spyro?"
"Yes, but something is preventing me from sleeping."
"And you are trying to figure it out?" The dragoness approached him and perched next to him.
"I do not know, Darling. Maybe I just wanted to see the stars." He then looked to her as he continued, "Then again, I knew nothing more beautfiul than you. As long as I am with you, I am home."
"Oh, Spyro", Cynder hissed with content, "I feel the same way about you." She closed her eyes and nuzzled his neck.

Spyro started nuzzling back before breathing, "Want to go back inside?"
"No... Let's stay here for a minute."
Both the dragons slowly sat down in unison. Spyro crossed his paws and rested his left wing over his mate's back, prompting her to shuffle in closer. She then did the same, having their wings entwined, and rested her head upon Spyro's paws. She closed her eyes and sighed dreamily, feeling comfort in the warmth her mate had to offer. Spyro started nuzzling again, whispering, "I love you, Cynder."
Sharing his tone, she asked, "Will we be together forever?"
He nuzzled her face and whispered, "Forever, Love." He remained silent, listening as the black dragoness breathed calmly. After a while, Spyro spoke again, "I have done so much over the years. Unlike some heroes, I hate bragging, but I do enjoy those times I look back on. I was so young then. I did not even care about my own safety. It just proved that I put everyone else's safety before my own. I could have died, but we have both survived so much, for so long. Nothing can take us down so easily. I would die for you Cynder. I love you. And I always have."
After another while of silence, Cynder rose her head, and said, "Let's go back inside." Spyro nodded in reply, and they quietly got of the roof of the temple, and went into the heart of it, seeing that their friends were still fast asleep. Spyro and Cynder were adults now. So, the Guardians that Spyro knew, were retired now, while their offsprings took their places.
Spyro and Cynder approached two dragon hatchlings. One was grey with black wings and spines. The other was purple with red wings and short horns. They were curled up with each other. A smile could be seen on both Spyro and Cynder's faces in the dim light of the large room. The two large dragons laid on the stone ground, curled up, having the two dragon hatchlings lie on them as a cushion. Spyro and Cynder closed their eyes, enjoying the embrace, and Spyro gave a long sigh before drifting off to sleep.

It was kind of hard for me to imagine this one, only because I never really grew up or got into Spyro because my mom never allowed dragons, magic, and stuff like that.
