Darkness Lingers

I forget what specifically gave me inspiration. I was browsing with single names out of curiosity, and I wanted to do something dark and demonic. It was a convenience that I got to learn about shading when painting. After three paintings with acrylics on canvas (I did one for venting on a certain night and refrained from posting), I bought a few more canvases, this one being a big one. To my surprise, it turns out to be wider and longer than my large sketch pad.
I wanted a little effect with giving the figure licks of red, and shading. A lightning bolt, to my belief, is used for a sense of drama. I also wanted to further test the belief that a screen/picture is viewed from left to right.
I did make practice runs by sketching. Acrylics on canvas, of course. This was done in the evening of 8 Jan, 2015. I much love my first picture of this year. I was listening (finally) to my Christmas present Within Temptation: Hydra. I was drinking tea and eating an apple. I think this took me 65 minutes, start-to-finish.
